Did you read the article on SFGate http://www.sfgate.com/columnists/lloyd/? The columnist is referring to an ad campaign NAR is starting to inform buyers/sellers it’s the time to act. The columnist makes some good points, especially about how it being a good time to buy and sell doesn’t make sense. Also, as she points out, it’s an ad. And ads promote a specific point of view.

I do agree that it’s a good time to buy. Buyers can make good deals, especially if the house has been on the market for some time. Will it get better? Nobody knows. I do know it’s a better market for buyers than I’ve seen in about five years, and maybe 10.

As for sellers, well, you have to be patient and you may not get what you would have a year ago, but if you have to sell, call me.

Ryan Hamilton and I recently hosted Green Drinks. It was a fun opportunity to meet more of the people that attend Green Drinks and have my hope renewed that we can still make enough of a difference for our future.

I’ve read a number of articles recently about the direction our environment is headed and warnings that we need to act soon. I find some people still question the timing, but the fact that our current path is headed toward a more chaotic and unpredictible environment is generally accepted.

I believe we need to start making a difference now. I have just enough American Indian heritage to find wisdom in the belief we should choose now based on the impact in seven generations. I fear we may not even have one generation to base our choices on, as the time is upon us in our lifetime.

I also recognize that it starts with little steps. That’s why I’m a green realtor. I’m a realtor by trade and green in my heart and finding a way to bring the two together was inspiring.
